What is an apostille on an FBI background check?
An apostille is an official certification issued by the U.S. Department of State that authenticates a federal document for use in foreign countries. When a country requires an apostilled FBI background check, the apostille confirms the document is legitimate and recognized internationally under the Hague Convention. Without the apostille, your FBI background check will not be accepted by foreign governments.
How long does the process take?
Through our service, the apostille process takes 7 to 10 business days from the time we receive your FBI background check. The standard mail-in process through the Department of State takes 5 to 12 weeks and sometimes longer.
Do I need to be in Illinois to use your service?
No. Our apostille service is available nationwide and internationally. You can submit your FBI background check from anywhere. Unfortunately, we do not provide Fingerprinting Services at this time. We do plan to add this service in the future. Once you have your FBI Background Check, we handle the apostille.
Can I get overnight or international shipping?
Yes. Standard 2-day return shipping is included in the price at no extra charge. Overnight domestic shipping is available for an additional fee. International shipping is also available if you provide the shipping label.
